PLACEMENT

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell has been successful in placing a large number of students every year. The cell also provides students training and orientation to prepare them for the recruitment process and careers.

REWARDS AND RECOGNITION
  MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS: Seshadripuram Education Trust Scholarships is awarded to students who have secured 90% and above in II PUC Board Exams.
   

Every semester, scholarships are awarded for over all proficiency and for students securing highest marks in individual subjects.

  PLACEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS: Funds are collected from students placed by the college Placement Cell and the same is used to assist needy students
  Staff members contribute to a staff fund which is used to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections of the society. 
  Sportspersons representing the college at international levels are awarded Rs. 15,000 by the College Management.
  Best Outgoing Sportsperson-Male and Female is awarded by the Department of Physical Education.
  Best Outgoing Cadet and Best Outgoing N.S.S volunteer award is given by the N.C.C and N.S.S units respectively.
  Meritorious students are given endowment prizes during Convocation celebrations.

The Higher Taste’ is the college canteen run by ISKCON. It provides a delicious array of hygienic and nutritious, vegetarian food items at subsidized rates for students and staff members.

STUDENT  SAFETY

Group Insurance

Management has insured all the students studying under Seshadripuram Educational Trust with student safety insurance.  Insurance assures a death coverage of Rs. 10000/- per student in case of natural or accidental death and accident coverage of maximum of Rs. 5000/.

CAMPUS SECURITY

 

Strict, round the clock security is provided at the college entrance. Outsiders are not allowed to enter the college without proper identification.

  Necessary safety precautions are followed in the Departments of Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics and Physics respectively.
  Fire extinguishers and first Aid kits are installed in the Department of Sports, Health centre & library.

YOGA CLASS

Regular yoga classes are conducted for students where Yogasanas, meditation and kriyas are taught. By this students are benefited with general physical fitness, mental alertness, and balancing of the soul, body and mind.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE

In order to give exposure to the global scenario, to increase competency and to face cross cultural challenges, a course in Spanish leading to a certification was conducted by the INSTITUO HISPANIA in the college.

To improve oral communication skills of students in English, the college conducts spoken English classes.

STUDENT  WELFARE OFFICER

The Students’ Welfare Officer-Sri N.S.Satish, Department of Kannada is responsible for taking care of all student related concerns. Free, individual counselling is provided to students burdened with academic and personal problems by the Officer. He is also in charge of recognising students from economically backward backgrounds and realising funds to aid them from the College Trust Fund.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAMMES

Each class is assigned a faculty member as its mentor. A record is maintained by the mentor of the academic performance of the students as well as of their behavioral aspects. Necessary assistance is provided by the mentor with the aim of bringing about overall development of each student.

STUDENTS’ GRIEVANCE CELL

OBJECTIVES:
  • To provide a forum for students to express their genuine grievances /problems/suggestions freely and frankly without any fear of being victimized. The grievances could include academic, administrative, infrastructural and interpersonal issues.
  • To promote cordial student-student, student-teacher relationships by helping to smoothen out areas of conflict.
  • To use teachers as a bridge between the student community and the administrative authorities.

COMPOSITION:

The Grievance Redressal Cell will be looked after by a committee of 4 faculty members, including the Students Welfare Officer. The committee will include a minimum of 2 lady staff members.


MECHANISMS OF COMPLAINTS/SUGGESTIONS
  • Suggestion Boxes placed at strategic locations.
  • Direct interaction with the Students’ Welfare Officer and other members in the Grievance Cell between 12.00 noon to 1.00 p.m. every working day.

MECHANISMS OF REDRESSAL
  • The Suggestion Box will be opened once a month by the committee who will discuss the grievance/suggestion and possible solutions and actions to be taken. If necessary, the grievance will be brought to the notice of the Principal for required action. Complaints involving sexual; harassment of any kind will be brought to the notice of “Ankura”- (forum for Women) if necessary. Personal problems requiring counseling will be referred to the counseling centre.
  • Grievances/suggestions brought directly to the Students Welfare Officer will be discussed and necessary action taken without undue delay.
