HISTORY |
Part of the eight-decade-old Seshadripuram Education Trust, Seshadripuram College was established on a modest scale on 1st July 1973 with just six staff members and student strength of thirty. Today, with over 2000 students, 18 Under Graduate and 2 Post Graduate Departments, the college continues to surge ahead with the motto ‘Always Aiming High’ as an inspiration. The College has passed through different stages and established itself as a renowned institution. Today its reputation is not merely confined to the city but has also spread to other states in the country. The success of the institution is based on an enlightened management, eminent Principals, committed staff and enthusiastic students.
It was ranked among the top 100 colleges in the country according to the survey conducted by India Today.
The institution is now spearheaded by Dr. Narahalli Balasubramanya, a highly renowned critic and a well-known writer in Kannada literature, as the Principal of the college.

From the Principal's Desk |
It is my firm belief that the best education combines high standards of academic achievement with strong moral and spiritual guidance.  Education should provide opportunities for every individual child to succeed in a variety of ways, preparing young people for a future in which they can thrive in their chosen career paths in addition to becoming responsible, caring citizens. Furthermore, learning should be fun, students should feel happy and safe and every individual should experience success.
The college is proud of its ethos, its all round high standards and its strong emphasis on personal development. It offers the opportunity of an exceptional education in a strong, secular context. I believe students deserve the best education possible and values that prepare them for the future. We are committed to providing both.
Indeed, I believe that Seshadripuram College is a very special place to be. I am proud of our wonderful students, the dedicated staff and the supportive trustees. We will continue to strive to give our students every opportunity to excel in their chosen fields.

Governing Council |
The Governing Council which monitors the functioning of the college is composed of representatives of the Management, the university and the staff. The aim is to ensure the purposeful functioning of the institution and thus enhance its development in all aspects.
